Lunch Arrangements and Menu

School Dinners

At Lincewood Primary we use a colour coded system to ensure that every child gets the meal of their choice at lunchtimes. This means that children are not disappointed as the kitchen staff know exactly how many of each main choice to cook. We are also doing our bit for the environment, as there is less waste. Service is quicker as the staff can see at a glance what each child wants to eat, leaving more time for play or lunchtime clubs.

Introducing your menu

MENU Nov 2021 - Mar 2022

Allergen information for our menu can be found here

If, for any reason, your child is not in school first thing and a school meal is required, please contact the Office by 9.30 to order a meal.

In September 2014 the Government introduced the Universal Free School Meals for Reception Classes through to Year 2. These children will receive a meal, free of charge, but if you wish to provide your own packed lunch for your child please do so. As a result of this initiative we could lose a lot of funding and ask that parents who would be eligible for Free School Meals for any length of time, no matter how small, advise the School Office as soon as possible please.

School meals are prepared in the school kitchen by ISS Ltd. Children in Years 3-6 are paid online via Schoolcomms - information on balances, payments and outstanding debt is displayed.

Please note that as a public body we are unable to allow debts to accrue for meals and we have no legal obligation to provide a meal for your child if you fail to pay. We do, however, provide a plain baguette and a piece of fruit temporarily, after advising you of the debt level, or ask that you provide your own food until the debt is cleared. Please therefore help us by ensuring meals are paid for promptly, or in advance, to avoid any unnecessary embarrassment to either party.

A copy of the Dinner Money Debt Policy is available from the school office on request

If you think your child is entitled to a free school meal, please contact the school office.

Packed Lunches

Children may also bring a packed lunch or go home for their dinner. Please ensure that all lunchboxes have your child’s name and class clearly marked, and that grapes and cherry tomatoes are cut in half to reduce the risk of choking.

Snacks and Healthy Eating

Free milk is available for our children at lunchtime.

All children are encouraged to bring in a healhy snack to eat at breaktime every day.
